European Security Configuration is supposed to be integral. It was declared by V. Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the course of the interview for the inter-state television and radio broadcasting company "Mir" on Tuesday in Saint-Petersburg city (Russian federation).
Asked by the journalist V. Lytvyn expressed the thought that the integral configuration of European security should be aimed "at the adequate reactions in challenges the present world faced, first of all that concerns the terrorism problem." "We are supposed to be aware of the fact that it is common problem and we should fight it together", the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasised.
According to Volodymyr Lytvyn, "there should be single approach no only on the political level and the level of specialized services cooperation but also its concerns fighting illegal criminal finance operations."
Giving answer to the question concerning his regarding the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), V. Lytvyn stated that this institution "is supposed to be integrated into the common security system." "One should understand that the security system that used to be earlier is destroyed and it was proved by Balkan events. Today we appeal to the fragments of the international law that is to be built now as an integral, strong, efficient and related system. To reach this aim it is necessary to overcome political egoism as there were numerous evidences that even the strongest countries can not fight terrorism by themselves."
As it was announced before, Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday arrived into Saint-Petersburg City (Russian Federation) where during 6-8 April he will participate in Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Countries-Participants.
In the framework of the official visit V. Lytvyn will meet Serhey Mironov, Federation Council of Russia Chairman, State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov, Majilis Chairman of Kazakhstan Republic Ural Muhamedjanov, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Boris Batura and also Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the President of the European Security and Defence Assembly, Robert Walter.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will deliver speech before the participants of the international parliamentary Conference dedicated to 65th anniversary of Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 Victory and International parliamentary Conference "Future if European Security."
The Head of the Ukrainian parliament will give an interview for "Mir" television radio broadcasting channel and will take part in the conference on the results of the activity of 34th plenary sitting of CIS IPA, dedicated to 65th anniversary of Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 Victory.
